television ,a form of mass media based on the electronic delivery of moving images and sound from a source to a receiver. By extending the senses of vision and hearing beyond the limits of physical distance, television has had a considerable influence on society.
Difference between TV and cinema:
Tv:
- TV is available in people's homes, can be viewed at an individual level.
- TV uses video tapes.
- TV images are virtual and erect on projection.
- TV images are produced when video signals are transmitted with the help of radio of digital signals.
- The no of picture frames running in one second in video is 25-30, depending,On the format.
- TV has the scope of diverse content for entertainment through its various channels at a time.
- TV can be used to show films.
- TV is a multi-channel experience, the choice of changing from one to another is entirely in our hands.
Cinemas:
- Cinemas is a theater centric. Film on celluloid cannot be viewed in peoples houses.
- Cinema uses "film" as medium to capture images.
- Cinema projects "real" images on the screen, which are inverted on projection.
- Film making includes developing the film roll and printing them.
- The no of frames exposed per second in film is 24, irrespective of the type of film used.
- At a given time, cinema can only show the content created by one person.
- Cinema can never any TV programs or shows.
- Cinema uniquely is a singular events.
Genres of TV programmes:
television News:
Television news refers to the information and updates that are broadcasted through the medium of television, serving as a primary source of news for the mass public and playing a crucial role in political communication.
TV documentaries:
A documentary is a television or radio programme, or a film, which shows real events or provides information about a particular subject.
Quizzes and game shows:
quiz show, broadcast show designed to test the memory, knowledge, agility, or luck of persons selected from a studio or broadcast audience or to contrive a competition among these people for merchandise or cash awards.
Music and dance programs:
In a traditional culture, music and dance are often inseparable – musicians are brought to life by dancers and dancers energize musicians. Dancing in community settings has traditionally been a way for people to socialize, get exercise, and express the joy of living.
Reality shows:
A reality show is a type of television program that aims to show how ordinary people behave in everyday life, or in situations, often created by the program makers, which are intended to represent everyday life.
Thrillers:
These are aimed at sending a chill down the viewer spine. These require a lot of creative thinking a specific kind of execution to entertain people.
